Changelog

0.55.0 Journals

July 9, 2026

This is an older version. It is no longer maintained; the current version 1.147.0 is recommended.

Periodic documents, that is daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly entries, with a calendar panel and a navigation block.

  • A journal is a series of documents of one period, with a folder and naming scheme built from date parts, optionally a template, and date properties written automatically. Shelves gather several journals together.
  • Two commands open today’s entry or the entry for a date you choose. If the file is missing, it is created along with its chain of folders and a filled-in template.
  • A calendar panel shows the month with week numbers, marks the days that have an entry, and opens the daily or the weekly entry with a click.
  • A navigation block inside an entry shows the current period, the periods above it on the same shelf, and arrows to the previous and the next period.
  • Weeks are counted by the international rule with Monday as the first day. The parts for week number, week-numbering year and quarter are available to the templates and the query language as well.
  • Journals are maintained in the settings of the area, in two stages across the shelves and the single journals, with a preview of the resolved example path. Changing a scheme raises a warning; files already there are not renamed.
